Oh yes, my day begins with gossip
And I end my day with it.
I enjoy all scams and scandals
I can spend hours debating on it.
I thrive on our double standards-

I am a snooty, conceited
voyeuristic socialite,
Who knows might is right.
I profit from sensationalism:
I prey on people's curiosity, guilt and pessimism.
Very much on the sly.I thrive on social hypocrisy
Make them wallow in woe and black humour,
You know the reason why!
I bend and break the rules and norms
Meant for those living in multilayered shell
of values, beliefs and fear of God.
It gives me added pleasure to 
have an innocent fool on the block.
Oh yes, I become their guardian angel
The innocent soul fighting for their cause.
I become their desired leader
for their noble cause- The illusive challenges 
I created for them with my crafty mind.
I energise myself by "touching" (verbally or otherwise)
The vulnerable points of those 
with sensitive heart and mind.
Their reaction of fear, jealousy and misery
 Sets my scoop hungry mind at ease.
This helps me to turn a blind eye 
To my own harsh reality!
I, guilty? but why?
I am  the media, polity 
i am the 'conscientious' society.
I survive on peoples' fear 
of change and transition..
I make them perceive
Diversity as exploitative disparity.
I survive on fear and vengeance,
I induce using their ignorance.
I strike at the roots of unity.
I intoxicate the average people
To the senseless issues of 
religion, status, gender and polity.
They cry themselves hoarse for liberty
Liberty comes with responsibility?
I tell them, it's a myth not reality.
I so easily convince them 
their hallucination is their ideology.
I convince them to trash their identity
I use their ego against them
To easily revolt against themselves
And easily lose their peace and sanctity.
I make them turn a blind eye
To the need for compassion
 and love to save the Earth and humanity.
